Tel Aviv, Israel — So evidently, on Bograshov Street, Bee Good is like Starbucks. There are two on consecutive intersections, with basically identical facades, insides, inventory, and all discernible features. Why we need two identical whimsical T-shirt stores that sell five shirts that display pop culture references and sexual innuendo for 100 shekels (about 27 American dollars): I am not clear on this. Maybe when there’s a stampede for shirts with Andy Warhol bananas or Sesame Street characters saying ironic things about being high at the first one, the second one is full of elbow-room for T-shirt foraging?
What I am clear on is that Friend With Voice Modulation Issues originally used the one on the cross street of Chovevei Tsiyon as her landmark to get home, not realizing there was another of the exact same store a block up on Tverya. She often got lost, and now she uses the Cafe Cafe at the corner to let her know she’s at the right Bee Good. What a hilarious misunderstanding.
